If y'all publish your book via a visitor and that visitor go out of business, you cannot ever update it or your data. Amazon KDP are very unhelpful and just cut and paste generic responses. AUTHORS BEWARE.

Authors beware! The recent jump in negative reviews are accurate. Something very wrong is going on at Amazon and kdp.
I've sold many books on Amazon for many years without issues. Their client service has always been helpful. Not anymore.
For some unknown reason, KDP informed me that I was violating copyright rules considering I rewrote ane of MY books, with new formatting and a new comprehend. I owned ALL copyrights to this previous book and just wanted to make it better.
I showed them all the evidence needed, however they nevertheless robotically told me, without showing me any of their bear witness, that I had violated copyright rules.
I have every right to redo my volume!
When I over again showed them my copyrights, and then they inverse their story, maxim I had 2 accounts!
I did not have ii publishing accounts.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!! My book was supposed to be taken down a couple of years agone, and when i searched for it i couldn't observe it and then i thought it had been. Turns out they never took it down, they were still selling it and i was getting zero royalties. I have had my account with KDP for many years, from before they were reincarnated as KDP from CreateSpace, and have published with them 27 titles. Since Amazon took over, information technology'due south been a nightmare to bargain with them. My payments take started to fail a twelvemonth and a half ago, apparently "because my proper name is incorrect." I take resubmitted my banking concern details, at KDP's request, almost a dozen times, only the result hasn't been resolved. Since October 2020, I have chosen their customer service quite a few times, and have emailed them back-and-forth probably over a hundred times. The customer service system is completely incompetent — reps have been shuffling me from one person to another, all with generic replies, and no one who is actually interested in resolving the effect. At their request, I accept also called my bank multiple times to confirm they don't reject payments (and of course, they don't…) In addition, I have asked repeatedly to talk to a senior customer representative who would exist able to assist, just all of my requests accept been ignored. I have 27 titles that sell on Amazon, but absolutely no payments that come up in, or even simply an opportunity to talk to someone real to resolve it. It is truly a nightmare. I take never encountered such terrible client service. If you'd like to self-publish your books, all I can recommend is to avert KDP at all costs. There are many other online publishers. KDP may hold the largest share of the market place, but their service is truly appalling. Shame on Amazon!

KDP seems to be a forerunner that Amazon is heading for disaster. You, every bit a publisher, accept nothing control over your own work. I've been simply trying to get my two DRAFTS deleted, and I can't. When you upload your volume, the format is MASSACRED and your work becomes completely unreadable. This happened to me, and I can't fifty-fifty unpublish it. Worst customer service. I forgot my username and password considering I hadn't logged in to my kdp account for years (I ever stayed signed in) and they would exercise admittedly aught to help me. They were rude, they lied, and if y'all tin can find another manner to publish your volume do it because kdp sucks big fourth dimension.

Later 20 years of running my website i decided to turn it into a volume.
They have airtight my business relationship as I apparently have duplicate account, I Do Not.
They accept no complaints or appeals team. All my work is lost in their system.

Very bad customer service for book authors. They don't listen or think, but send back copy-paste replies that don't employ to the situation. Lots of bugs too with their software.

After changing my telephone number I cannot access the money side of my business relationship. Twice I have sent a copy of my driver'due south licence to facilitate a supposed "2 stride" verification process. Very very poor customer service. Worst Customer Support I Accept E'er Experienced

I have never experienced—or even imagined—a company and its assembly being so utterly negligent, incompetent, and indolent in their refusal to set a situation. There are some pretty awful businesses out in that location, but KDP is the absolute worst.

I have been unable to access my KDP business relationship multiple times since March 2021, when I start published my latest book. It has happened 4 times after ordering author copies and each time they claimed to have fixed the problem. They did not.

The people from KDP told me to contact Amazon nearly the trouble.

Amazon told me to contact KDP well-nigh the problem.

Round and round and round. . . for nine months.

They both told me I have duplicate accounts, which is something I never signed upwards for, let alone know anything nearly. Even afterwards they told me they merged the accounts, the problem persisted when I would go to guild more author copies. Most recently, I am existence told that my account is terminated and that the problem is that I am trying to sign into the indistinguishable business relationship that was terminated, although I don't see how that is possible if they merged the accounts and eliminated the duplicate. I haven't changed my name. I haven't inverse my electronic mail. I have only changed passwords when instructed to do so by both Amazon and KDP, yet nix was fixed. I keep getting sent in circles. When I am told the result would be forwarded to a team that would transport me a link to reset the password and fix the trouble, no one contacted me with that information. Everything is a contradiction or a dead-stop with this company. It is similar some kind of psychological torture. I plan to contact the BBB with all the documented messages I have received and hopefully some kind of solution will be offered. Otherwise, I don't know what else to practise. I have again been attempting to access the business relationship and asking assistance with multiple phone calls and online chats since Nov. twenty, 2021, with nothing progress. I accept been on the phone for more than 3 hours this morning (Dec. 10, 2021) and was transferred vii times with zero solution, ultimately being disconnected. I don't know what else to do. In that location is nil accountability that I tin can see. All I am trying to accomplish is to gild more author copies. No one is helping. Why is that?


Horrible Customer Service

Equally a author, I have been working with KDP since October 29, 2021 to resolve an issue regarding covers to several books. I keep getting passed around to customer service representatives, and ever get the aforementioned pat reply: volition contact you when information technology is resolved.

DO Not Utilize KDP!

Don't think you'll escape getting robbed from this company, even if y'all've been publishing for years. They will finish you. I was notified only 3 days ago about copyright concerns regarding a title I submitted. They blocked the title from e'er existence published, therefor information technology was never published and no i ever purchased the book. Cool. No biggie. That's what a review process is for, yeah? You would think. I contend the copyright business organisation they plagued me with, as I practice have rights to the embrace, so it makes no sense as to why they flagged it, simply not existence able to submit that cover is the least of my concerns regarding all of this. The east-mail notifying me about the blocked title didn't list a timeframe they needed me to respond in, and it didn't fifty-fifty threaten to terminate my account if I did not answer. I fifty-fifty spoke with a supervisor, who only informed me that he does not work in the KDP review section, that they do not have telephone back up, and that all he could do was let them know I need a response, which I doubt he even did. Their KDP back up is based out of India with poorly trained staff who know nothing and are but told to target people and steal from them. Absolute useless trash. I was promised someone would e-mail me dorsum in 24 hours past several of their incompetent agents. That, of course, never happened. I have heard nothing from anyone. I tried speaking to another amanuensis over the phone, nothing just rudeness and dismissal, and again I was told to just keep waiting. Icky. KDP owes me somewhere effectually $3000 in sales. I accept worked very hard to build my account and make this income, as all of us do. Of grade, Amazon Ads still wants me to pay for the advertisements without KDP paying me my royalties. HA. I have reached out to the ad section and told them I will be disputing any further charges from them. Idc. Amazon is an atrocious company congenital from Jeff Bezos' sociopathic morals. I was really relying on my royalties. Nearly $1000 of that was supposed to be paid to me in just a few days. I take no idea if that will prove upwards in my account now. It makes no sense that I cannot notwithstanding receive the royalties I fabricated on all the titles of no concern. This is absolute robbery. Do not use KDP. You've been warned.


Worst customer service I've always known.

Getting a book out is easy enough if you take the time to read things. But DO NOT brand a mistake!
I fabricated a simple mistake that meant I couldn't be paid. All I got from them was a constant stream of emails telling me to update my banking details. Day after mean solar day later on mean solar day. I had to threaten them with legal activity before anyone decided to tell me what the problem was. Merely fifty-fifty then they messed upwards, saying but that the problem was my name and that I should send some ID. It wasn't until I had got angry with several different people that someone finally mentioned what I had washed wrong, and the side by side sentence was to tell me not to reply to any more of their emails!! Apparently they like existence rude and causing problems, but don't similar being responded to.
And then, really non the all-time customer service I've come up across! The words Unhelpful, Rude, Nasty and Incompetent, come to mind.
As for getting author copies, forget it. So far I've only managed to get ii. Every time I endeavour to order more I'm told they cannot be delivered to any of the addresses I usually employ for Amazon'southward deliveries.
